Final Post

I wasn’t really surprised by anything in Japan. Going into this trip I already knew a lot about Japan. The one thing is that I heard people are nice there, but I didn’t really believe it. It is so true; everyone is nice. The biggest difference I saw was the lack of bathrooms and trash cans. You are supposed to carry your garbage and no one eats while walking so no one needs a bathroom. I only had 4 days to get ready for some of the challenges that I had. Like I said, the bathrooms were a problem and the last few days were rough because I was missing being able to get hugs from my family whenever I needed one. If I could tell just one thing about my trip, it would be how beautiful it is there. I have never seen anything as pretty as Japan. I am curious about how the people in Japan think about people in the USA. If we did the trip again, I would say don’t do the Skytree. It was so crowded, and it wasn’t that cool, but I loved all the gardens and the first museum we went to.

Day 8

We went to the moss garden, and it was so beautiful. Thanks to everyone that donated money for this incredible experience. It was so cool. Then we got soba, and it was so cute. There was a little old lady running the place and she was adorable. She was showing us stuff about the place we were in, and she gave me a bag to put my stuff in and showed us the bus schedule. Then me, Dil, Ava, and Liz went to a book store, but I was just kind of wandering. Then we went to this store, and I won’t even try to spell it. The store was crazy — it was so loud and had the craziest stuff. I had some noodles, and it was good, but hot, and my dessert was so weird. It was raw ice cream — some of them were good and some were bad.

Day 7

We got up and a big flea market was right outside our front door. It was so cool; we had a lot of time to look around. There was some much stuff — swords, food, clothes, everything. Then we split up, and I got some more sushi. It was so good. I tried a lot of new fish, and I tried squid and I thought I was having a allergic reaction, but it was the wasabi hiding in the fish.

Day 6

We got to the hostel by train. I hate moving around with all my luggage. We had bento, and it was good. Then we got a snack. For supper, we had reservations at Stardust. It was so cute — we met with Paul’s friend, the food was delicious, and we had a short day. It was so nice.

Day 5

We got up and went to eat breakfast with monks. It was cool and the food was good. Then we went to the open air museum, and it was okay — talking was more fun. From there, we got on a ropeway and got black eggs (that supposedly extend your life) and saw Mount Fuji. Lastly, we got on a big pirate ship on our way back to the hostel. The eggs were okay, Mount Fuji was cool, and the ship was mid. Then we had Nepalese food for supper. I love it, I ate so much. It was a good day.

Day 4

We had breakfast on the roof one last time. It was kind of sad, but fun. I miss the view. We got on a nice train. It was cool, and we got bento box lunches. I liked mine, but it was cold, and I don’t really like cold meat. We dropped off our luggage in our hostel, which is so cool. I love the view here, and we had a early supper at a cafe where you can soak your feet while you eat. It was cool. The food was okay. Then we went to a garden in Hakone. It is so beautiful, and I love it so much. I got so many beautiful pictures. Today was a good day.

Day 3

We got breakfast at the fish market. I got wagyu, and it was so good — the best steak I have ever had. Sorry, dad. For lunch, we got conveyor belt sushi. It was my first time getting it, and I loved it. I got some stuff for my family, then we went to the Pokémon store it was cool, but it was so hot, so I went outside. Finally, a few of us went to Studio Ghibli museum. I like it but I was confused because I have never seen the movies. For dinner, we had a home cooked meal from Ava and Oliver. It was so delicious.

the up’s and down’s of day 2

In the morning, we had a lot of really good food, then we got on a train and went to a really beautiful garden. I got so many good pictures on my camera. After that, we got fruit parfaits, and they were so delicious. I got the strawberry one, then me and some others got to go to the zoo and see pandas. We did, but we had to wait 80 minutes to see them for 80 seconds! There were almost no animals in their enclosures, and we had to hurry to Skytree. It was a little nerve-racking, but it was cool.

i am ed.

At the last minute, I get to go to Japan. It has been a crazy time. I signed up for the Japan trip at the beginning, but didn’t get on. I was on the wait list. A months later, I was informed that I might be able to go, so I just had to wait. I didn’t know if I was going until March 12th, and we leave on the 18th. Not a lot of time, but I am super excited.
